The U18 womens team from the Japanese Football Association has enjoyed a high quality hit out against a WPSS U14 selection group on their tour of New Zealand.
The talented girls from the Asian football power house put up a very strong showing before eventually falling 5 – 3 in an entertaining game of football.
Will Mendoza and Lucca Sullivan scored for WPSS in the first half before a Sam Clegg double pushed the scoreline out to 4 nil in the second half.
The visitors came roaring back with 2 goals of their own before Keagan Maclou put the game to bed with the WPSS sides fifth late on.
The JFA women did not throw in the towel and showed great character to score the last goal of the game at the death.
A unique experience that WPSS is proud to have been able to offer to so many of its young up and coming players.
The women from the JFA take on the NZ U20 womens again on Tuesday night from 6.30 pm at QBE stadium North Harbour.
